SLCM-WHQM's workforces go to Palm Beach Resort
Squeezed into the summer break, an institutional outing was held for the employees of St. Luke's College of Medicine William H. Quasha Memorial Inc., May 8-9, at the Palm Beach Resort in Hugom, San Juan, Batangas.
After almost four and a half hours of traveling, everyone was delighted by the tranquility and peace of a place with a well preserve natural setting, indeed, a perfect destination to escape from stressful urban life and heavy workloads.
Employees rested with the luscious accommodation, Casa Isabel for women, Casa Alexandra for men and Casitas de luxe for other employees and administration officials.
Right after the lunch at the Pavilion, some plunged in the beach of which the lapping sounds of its waves made it more inviting. Some immediately had their initial stroll of the place.
For the spirit of camaraderie, the afternoon was spent with dynamic games. Sack race, tabo balde, tug of war and catching eggs: to name a few. (Thanks a lot for the help of Lyn, Kuya Dan A. and Kuya Carlo)
Other than these, employees were given the privilege to explore the wonders of the resort. Big rock formations, which are sole visible during low tide, startled the visitors. Meanwhile Dr. Alejandro Ortigas, Associate Dean for Students and Faculty Affairs, seized the moment by kayaking around the place.
Employees indulged with the sumptuous dinner in the Pavilion at around 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The remaining hours of the first day was spent with a bon fire set-up while some are relaxing with the cool breeze which cradles them gently; hence others chose to indulge with alcoholic beverages savors with personal stories.
The second day was highlighted with the unforgettable boating across the Laiya Beach giving a perfect vie of not only the remote resorts but also of the multitude wonders of nature --- natural landscapes and glimmering corals.
Such outing was definitely a remarkable and rich experience in a tropical seaside paradise. The annual institutional outing truly served its purpose of strengthening the bind among the employees in an unwinding destination outside the walls of our workplace
