The Research and Biotechnology Division Celebrates its 12th Anniversary

This week, from July 23-27, 2007, the Research and Biotechnology Division of the St. Luke's Medical Center celebrates their 12th Anniversary with the theme: Advancing Molecular Medicine: New Directions for Research.

With this, RBD has lined up several activities for the whole week as their way of reaching out to the whole St. Luke's community and letting themselves and their much-worthy projects known to everyone.

Accordingly, the RBD has set up a Poster Exhibit at the College of Medicine Lobby and Seventh Floor. This consists of past and present studies and projects undertaken and collaborated in by the RBD and members of the St. Luke's community. Particularly interesting are the interactive e-posters set up in four different stations. The exhibit was opened by a welcome address by the Dean and President of St. Luke's College of Medicine, Dr. Brigido Carandang, Jr., as well as a brief overview by Dr. Ronald Matias, RBD Senior Research Scientist and SLCM Faculty. Dr. Jaime Montoya, Executive Director of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development, was also present for the ribbon cutting.

In doing this exhibit, the group aims to showcase the achievements of the RBD and introduce a research attitude among the visitors. This may as well attract more faculty and students into doing scientific research. It doesn't end by attracting however, they actually encourage you to engage in research as they have placed also a huge poster on how to formulate, implement and obtain funding for your research! Check it out! The exhibit runs for the whole week. Other activities lined up by the RBD are:
